A poetry slam is a poetry competition designed to get the audience and performers engaged in poetry. The slam has 3 rounds, where each competing poet performs 3 poems of 3 minutes or less (each). After each poem, judges (randomly selected from the audience) score the poem, then a winner is determined.

Prior to the competition portion of the evening, there is an Open Mic which audience members can bring a piece they wrote or a piece that someone else wrote that inspired them. This is a good platform for building confidence as a public speaker.

This is a FREE event, and light refreshments are provided. Come and participate as a competitor or as an audience member.
