Lone Pine Lookout Lecture Series with Teresa and Al Description:
Come get a glimpse into the early days of Flathead National Forest and Glacier National Park as we stir up the ghosts of rangers past. Meet Lulu, an early Ranger’s wife and Ranger Root, as they share tales of adventure, helping to oversee the millions of acres of newly created public land at the start of the 20th century.
Al Koss, retired USDA Forest Service District Ranger and wilderness program manager. Al worked on the Spotted Bear Ranger District, with Flathead National Forest for several years as a wilderness ranger, before moving to a District Ranger role on the Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana and the Gila National Forest in New Mexico.
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, or feel free to take a seat in the open field for this program. Dress for the weather and bring some water or a snack if you need one!
*Registration is required and can be done by calling (406) 755-2706 ext. 0.
**Cost is FREE ($8 park entry fee still applies for non-residents)
