Value-Added Product Sales Under the New Law
10:00 AM
Northwest Montana History Museum
Value-Added Product Sales Under the New Law Description:
Free workshop for Missoula-area farmers and value-added producers to understand opportunities for direct-to-consumer sales of home made food items under new law "Montana Local Food Choice Act". New law creates new opportunities for producers to offer previously disallowed items for direct-to-consumer sales without licensing. These new items include raw milk and poultry, and other processed and value-added food items such as catered meals, pickled and canned foods, and perishable baked goods. New law presents new opportunities, and specific limitations and risks. Missoula-area farmers, value-added producers, and farmers market managers can learn more about the changes under the new law and how best to address legal liability risk management practices for long-term success at the free Value-Added Product Sales Under the Local Food Choice Act workshop Friday Aug 19.
