Historic Film Club screens romantic drama Always Description:
Pete Sandich (Richard Dreyfuss) is a talented aerial firefighter whose risk-taking and heroic tendencies often put him in danger. Steven Spielberg’s Always (filmed in Libby) is the story of when Pete’s tendencies finally caught up with him. From the afterlife, Pete is charged with guiding a new firefighting pilot named Ted Baker, a job that becomes more difficult as Ted begins to fall for Pete’s still-living girlfriend Dorinda (Holly Hunter).

Always is a remake of 1943's Spencer Tracy vehicle A Guy Named Joe, with the added benefits of special effects that enhanced the film's ethereal tone. Although not a huge box office hit, Always involved several of Hollywood's biggest names, including John Goodman and composer John Williams in addition to Dreyfuss, Hunter, and Spielberg. Spielberg originally wanted Sean Connery to play Pete’s angel, but when he proved unavailable, Spielberg cast Audrey Hepburn in want proved to be her last film.

There is no charge for the film, and donations will be accepted to help defray the cost of showing the films. The movie and popcorn are free; wine, beer, pop and water will be for sale. Seating is provided, but film fans can bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs, or whatever is comfortable for viewing the film
