Introduction to Foundation Training - Back Care Description:
If you suffer from chronic back pain, I bet you have thought one of the following:
"If I just rest it, the pain will go away"
"no pain, no gain"
"I'm getting old, It's normal to feel pain"
"I should strengthen my core..."

No. No. No. Yes. But what is your core? Old school techniques and thinking may still work, but Foundation Training will give you more tools to help you manage your chronic pain. Through a series of simple looking exercises, Foundation Training will teach you how to change not just your posture but your movement patterns.

This 2 hour workshop will cover 8 of the 18 exercises in Foundation Training with emphasis on decompression and breathing. Beyond the workshop you will be added into a private Foundation Training for Studio 48 Pilates facebook page for online support to help you continue your FT practice daily. You also will receive a packet of info with workout cards, descriptions of each exercise, workouts, and a free group fitness class at Studio 48 Pilates. We hope you can join Student Instructor- Gabrielle Cahoon- for this workshop. It has helped her get out of and manage chronic back pain after having her baby by putting focus on strengthening the spine under eccentric tension rather than flexion and compression.
