2nd Annual Bigfork Retro Film Festival
4:30 PM
Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts
2nd Annual Bigfork Retro Film Festival Description:
The mission of the Bigfork Retrospective (aka Retro) Film Festival is to bring back great films to the big screen in the comfort and convenience of the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts (aka the Bigfork Center) located in Bigfork, Montana. We want to recreate the experience of watching movies as they were originally meant to be seen. The festival runs from Thursday, October 5th through Sunday, October 8th.

The theme this year is “Oscar Favorites” since we are showing films that have won Academy Awards. These films include The Godfather (1972), Sunset Boulevard (1950), Bonnie and Clyde (1967), Some Like it Hot (1959), Schindler’s List (1993), One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975), The Wizard of Oz (1939), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), The African Queen (1951), Interrupted Melody (1955), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), The Sound of Music Singalong (1965) and West Side Story (1961).

In addition to showing great movies we’ve arranged special guest speakers to introduce two of the films. Jerry Molen, the 1993 Academy Award-winning producer of Schindler’s List will talk about making the film with Steven Spielberg. We also have the son and biographer Peter Ford to talk about his father, Glenn Ford’s, experiences making Interrupted Melody.

Tickets are only $5 per showing, or $35 for an All Access Pass. The festival starts October 5th and runs through October 8th at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Bigfork.

We kick things off Thursday evening with the classic crime drama The Godfather, released in 1972 and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The doors open at 4:30 pm and tickets are available either at the venue or in advance at bigforkfilmfestival.com. Movie snacks will be available for purchase at the venue. Note that some of films contain adult language and adult situations and may not suitable for children under the age of 13.
