So many folks are generously serving as a Board member for a nonprofit. We've developed a training just for them - Essentials of Board Service - to assist them in learning about their responsibilities as a Board member and in improving their effectiveness.

Presenter Biography:

Ned Cooney is the Program Director for the Nonprofit Development Partnership, which provides education and networking for nonprofits in the Flathead region. Ned also owns an independent consulting practice, Ascent Strategic Development, specializing in strategic planning, consulting with nonprofit leaders and board members, and meeting facilitation. Ned was raised in Southern California and holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from California State University. Before falling in love with the Flathead and moving with his wife Cathy to Bigfork in 2004, he ran two nonprofits, the Volunteer Center of Riverside County operating a variety of volunteer and social service programs, and the Resource Center for Nonprofit Management, specializing in training and consulting with nonprofit organizations. Ned is serving as a member of the Nonprofit Public Policy Council for the Montana Nonprofit Association.
