SUMMARY:35th Flathead River Writers Conference Oct 3-5
DESCRIPTION:The annual conference begins on October 3rd with a 4.5 hour add-on workshop with Debbie Burke. She is an award-winning author who recently launched the book, \"The Villain’s Journey – How to Create Villains Readers Love to Hate.\" Villains are antagonists but antagonists are not necessarily villains. Antagonists play an important role in all stories, fiction and nonfiction.\n
\n
This workshop isn’t just for mystery and thriller writers. For nonfiction, antagonists can be a problem to solve, a crisis, a natural disaster, or social issue. For memoirists, antagonists are challenges that authors must face and overcome in their lives. Each registrant will receive a copy of Burke\'s book.\n
\n
October 4th - 5th will be the traditional conference format with a line-up of workshops that cover self-editing, writing a graphic novel, memoir writing, the publishing process, poetry, the role of an agent, the writing journey, writing a blurb and a query, choosing traditional or indie publishing, and culturally-responsive fiction. See the full schedule at https://www.authorsoftheflathead.org/conference-schedule/.\n
