Potluck & Raku Firing
Class participants use hand building techniques in making a variety of ware, from simple pinch pots to complex boxes or intricate tiles. Technical and aesthetic aspects are considered while exploring closed and open forms including boxes, bowls, tiles and cups. Students are guided through the process from idea to assembling components. Surface treatments include the use of slip, sgraffito, imprinting, stencils and unconventional tools to achieve visual and tactile depth.
