HOCKADAY ANNOUNCES CRITS & CROISSANTS WITH JOE ABBRESCIA JR ON NOVEMBER 8

Fine art restorer Joe Abbrescia Jr is the Noember guest artist at the Hockaday for Crits & Croissants: A Saturday Morning Artists' Critique

The Hockaday Museum of Art's Crits & Croissants forum gives those who create art a chance to have their work reviewed by professionals. Artists 15 years of age and older may bring one or more pieces of their recently created artwork for critique while enjoying coffee and croissants. Participants are invited to join fine art restorer Joe Abbrescia, Jr. on November 8 from 10:30am - 12pm.

Joe grew up entrenched in the arts. His preliminary training began at a very early age, roaming the classrooms and hallways of his father and uncle's art school in Skokie, Illinois. His father, Joe Abbrescia (1936-2005), was a renowned impressionist artist, and Joe Jr. spent countless hours receiving extensive training in color theory, color matching and painting. Joe's personal ability in the arts transformed in a different direction than that of his Dad, and today he is an art conservator in the Flathead Valley.

Joe's clients range from private collectors, to art dealers, and from auction houses to museums specifically: the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana, the Montana Museum of Art & Culture (MMAC) at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana and the Hockaday Museum of Art in Kalispell, Montana.

For the Hockaday's Crits and Croissants session on November 8, Joe will draw from his years of experience evaluating and restoring art to offer professional feedback on artists' recent works.

Crits & Croissants - A Saturday Morning Artist's Critique is held every 2nd Saturday of the month, September - May in the Hockaday's classroom, with a $5 participant fee for members, $7 for non-members.

The Hockaday Museum of Art is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave East. It is housed in a 1904 Carnegie Library building that appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, open year-round, Tues-Sat from 10am-5pm. A wheelchair accessible entry and elevator are provided.
