Crits & Croissants
10:30 AM
Hockaday Museum of Art
Description:
The Hockaday Museum of Art's Crits & Croissants forum gives those who create art a chance to have their work reviewed by professionals. Artists 15 years of age and older may bring one or more pieces of their recently created artwork for critique while enjoying coffee and croissants. Participants are invited to join painter Tom Saubert on December 10 from 10:30 AM - 12 PM.

Tom Saubert is a native Montanan and his art career spans several decades, a host of foreign countries, and a breadth of professional experience from college instructor to Disney innovator. Saubert studied painting and illustration at the Cleveland Institute of Art for five years, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Saubert is more than an artist as he is a historian, a story teller, and a time machine that transports you to a time and place and people through his accurate, sensitive, and masterful art. In 2017, Tom celebrates his 35th acceptance to The Russell Show, the main fundraiser for the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls which began in 1968.

For his session of Crits & Croissants, Tom will be introducing "The Artistic Principles of Painterly Thought" and covering each of the concepts as the participants' works are constructively critiqued.

Crits & Croissants - A Saturday Morning Artist's Critique is held every 2nd Saturday of the month, September - May in the Hockaday's classroom, with a $5 participant fee for members, $10 for non-members.

The Hockaday Museum of Art is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave East. It is housed in a 1904 Carnegie Library building that appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum is a private nonprofit organization, open year-round, Tues-Sat from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The mission of the Hockaday is to enrich the cultural life of our community and region, and preserve the artistic legacy of Montana and Glacier National Park.
