HOCKADAY ANNOUNCES 2014 HOLIDAY CELEBRATION COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE

The Hockaday Museum of Art thanks the community for it support by
offering free admission to enjoy current exhibitions,
discover the Gift Shop, and learn about art.

The Hockaday Museum of Art expresses its thanks to the community for their continued support by opening its doors with free admission Friday, December 26 through Saturday, December 27, from 10am to 5pm each day.

Visitors will enjoy the 2014 Members Salon, featuring over 100 participating artist members showing recent work representing a wide diversity of media types and styles. Winners of the People's Choice Awards will be on display. Visions of the American West: Art and Artifacts from the Hockaday Vault has proved to be a favorite amongst local guests with its many pieces featuring historic Montana scenes and its indigenous peoples.

On Saturday, there will be a free docent-led tour beginning at 10:30 AM. Then, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, local artists will be performing ongoing demos and answering questions about their work as the Crown of the Continent Choir performs holiday music in the main gallery.

Guests will appreciate the unique works presented by over 20 juried Montana artists in the Museum's Gift Shop with sale prices on original Miniature pieces and Museum exhibition commemorative items. A membership special offers a 50% discount on a gift membership with the purchase of a new or renewed annual donation.

The Hockaday Museum of Art is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave East. It is housed in a 1904 Carnegie Library building that appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, open year-round, Tues-Sat from 10am-5pm. A wheelchair accessible entry and elevator are provided.
