Phillips Studio & Gallery is excited to welcome back popular Kalispell artist and art instructor Karen Leigh for a second exhibit in the gallery. Karen has planned and worked on this exhibit since her last exhibit ended a year ago. All works spanning over the year illuminate her creative process through her use of specific materials. She was inspired by scenes around the Flathead Valley and has devoted this exhibit to “postcard” size paintings featuring the history and “accidental magnificence” of the area. Karen is particularly interested in finding beauty in unexpected places. Junk yards and rusty machinery offer many exciting possibilities. The definition of the word postcard, “a card for sending a message”, fits perfectly with the size and message each of the paintings will leave with the viewer.
