Kootenai - Archaeology
8:00 AM
Kootenai Arch
Description:
Retrace the steps of the fur traders, 19th century miners, and Native Americans who walked the lands of what is now the Kootenai National Forest. On this easy outing, we will start our journey at the Heritage Museum and move on to discover pictographs and other historic sites of the Kootenai.

Hike leader Becky Timmons is the former Archaeologist for the Kootenai National Forest. Make sure to bring good walking shoes, water, snacks, and an extra layer.

**Meeting time and location will be provided once you sign up.**

This hike is FREE and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Please bring good hiking shoes, food, water, and clothing adequate to be outside for the weather. Montana Wilderness Association hikes are led by volunteers. Hike leaders will be in touch with the hike group within the week before the hike to finalize details and logistics. Please inform your hike leader if you cannot attend. Children with genuine interest and the ability to hike the full distance are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
